The winter months are almost here, which means it’s time to find reasons to fire up the oven and fill your home with warm, home cooked aromas. If you’re lacking inspiration this season, fear not, BriarPatch Co-op Community Cooking School is offering dozens of cooking classes that are sure to motivate many a heart warming meal.
Located in a charming Nevada City house at 648 Zion Street, the Cooking School kitchen (pictured above) offers an intimate setting for learning about food and meal preparation from some of the most knowledgeable foodies in our community.
The classes range from traditional/regional meals like Winter Bread & Soup (Dec 1st), Spanish Tapas (Dec 17th) and Indian Curries (Jan 5th) to a four-part immersive Culinary Anthropology Series (Nov 28th, Dec 5th, Dec 12th, Dec 19th) that dives deep into the cultural and agricultural forces behind the food. There are also many class options for vegans, vegetarians and the growing number of people who want to cook with less meat.
Winter cooking classes are $30 for Co-op members and $35 for non-members. Everyone is welcome at the BriarPatch Co-op Community Kitchen; where it’s sure to be warm this winter. Hope to see you there!
